Ethics & Integrity

Integrity at the center of everything we do

Since 1968, we have built our reputation on relationships of trust. Ethical conduct, compliance with the law and environmental respect are part of who we are — doing what is right consistently, even when no one is watching.

This section brings together the principles, policies and channels that guide the conduct of everyone acting on behalf of Nova Ita — with customers, suppliers, employees, neighboring communities and public authorities. More than complying with the law, we are committed to operating with ethics, transparency and respect in every decision of our daily work.

Code of conduct

Code of Conduct & Ethics

Nova Ita's Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behavior expected of directors, employees, sales representatives, service providers and partners. It applies to all the company's units and activities.

Integrity

Acting with honesty and consistency between what we say and what we do.

Respect for people

We reject discrimination, moral or sexual harassment, child labor or work analogous to slavery. We value the diversity and dignity of every person.

Conflicts of interest

Decisions made on technical grounds and in the legitimate interest of Nova Ita, never for undue personal gain.

Business relationships

Transparency in negotiations, truthfulness in technical and commercial information, and fair competition.

Confidentiality

Protection of the strategic, technical and commercial information of the company and its partners.

Responsible use of assets

Care for the assets, resources and reputation of Nova Ita.

Failure to comply with this Code is subject to disciplinary measures, proportional to the severity, which may extend to termination and to the appropriate legal action.

Anti-corruption

Anti-Corruption & Anti-Fraud Policy

Nova Ita operates in compliance with Brazilian anti-corruption legislation, including Law No. 12,846/2013 (the Brazilian Anti-Corruption Act) and other applicable rules.

We do not tolerate

  • • Payment, offer, promise or receipt of bribes, kickbacks or any undue advantage — to public or private agents.
  • • Fraud, document forgery, manipulation of information or accounting records.
  • • Facilitation payments to speed up or obtain acts to which we would not be entitled.

Gifts, presents and hospitality are permitted only when of symbolic value, occasional, transparent and in accordance with this policy, never with the intention of unduly influencing a decision.

Relationships with public authorities — in licensing, environmental, mining and tax inspections — are conducted with full transparency and respect for the law. We expect our suppliers, representatives and partners to adopt equivalent standards of integrity.

Health, safety & environment

Health, Safety & Environment

Mining and mineral processing demand a permanent responsibility toward people and the environment. Nova Ita takes on this commitment as a central part of its operation.

Health & Safety

  • • Compliance with the applicable Brazilian Regulatory Standards (NRs), including NR-22 (Occupational Health and Safety in Mining).
  • • Accident prevention, use of protective equipment and continuous training of the teams.
  • • The safety of our team takes precedence over production targets.

Environment

  • • Operation with the environmental licenses required by the competent authorities, including the Água e Terra Institute (IAT) of Paraná.
  • • Use of biomass as fuel in the calcination kilns, reducing fossil fuels.
  • • Operating in the Karst region, with attention to its geological and hydrological sensitivity and responsible mining practices.
  • • Continuous improvement in waste management, land reclamation and efficient use of resources.
